What makes The Bookhouse at Faunbrook so special?

The Bookhouse at Faunbrook is more than just a building—it’s a cherished piece of West Chester’s history. Built in the 1860s, this stunning property was originally home to the Darlington family, who were known for hosting legendary Fourth of July celebrations. Over the decades, it has been lovingly transformed into a boutique bed and breakfast, welcoming guests to experience its timeless charm and unique story. How do I make a reservation?

You can book directly through our website by selecting your preferred dates, room, and completing the booking process. Alternatively, you can reach out to us by emailing faunbrook@thebookhousehotel.com for assistance with your reservation. 

Is there a minimum stay requirement?

No, we do not have a minimum requirement. 

How does the self-check-in unfold?

The Bookhouse at Faunbrook has a self-check-in process. We offer an invisible concierge service. Prior to your arrival, you will receive a text and an email with detailed access instructions with your own secret code to your room and lobby. Included with your check in instructions will be a guestbook with things to do in town such as dining, shopping, etc. recommendations. There is also guest information in the lobby. Should you seek guidance, our team is just a phone call or text away at any point of your stay. 

What amenities await in your room?

Each room is equipped with a range of amenities, including complimentary wifi, a comfortable bed featuring Brooklyn Bedding mattress, cozy hotel linens, private bathroom with toiletries, hair dryers, ironing kit, and hotel slippers for each guest. Please refer to the room descriptions for specific amenities available in each room. We have also partnered with Longwood Gardens and Taste of Local Food Tours for discounted pricing. 

Is breakfast included?

A variety of pastries and fruit will be served for guests Thursday through Sunday in the hotel lobby.

Can I cancel or modify my reservation?

Reservation cancellation and modification policies vary depending on the rate and room type you’ve selected. Please review the cancellation policy during the booking process. If you have any questions or need assistance, we are happy to help. 

Is parking available?

Yes, we offer onsite parking for all of our hotel guests. For weddings, we have a valet service.

What time is check in and check out?

Check-in time is 3pm, and check-out time is 11am. If you need to arrange for an early check-in or late check-out, please contact us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Is the Bookhouse at Faunbrook suitable for events or gatherings?

The Bookhouse at Faunbrook is available to host weddings for up to 100 guests. If you’d like to learn more about having your wedding at the Bookhouse at Faunbrook, please email faunbrook@thebookhousehotel.com. 

Do you allow photography?

Yes, with prior approval from The Bookhouse at Faunbrook.

Do you have ADA rooms?

Due to the architecture of the historic building, it is walk up only access, there are no elevators or handicap access. 

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, we do not allow our furry friends at The Bookhouse at Faunbrook.

Can you buy the books on-site?

No, you cannot purchase the books in the hotel. The books are to stay in the rooms and for guests to enjoy. If you would like to purchase what you are reading during your stay and ship it directly to your house, we have partnered with bookshop.org. What is the Hotel Book Club?

The book club is a member’s only subscription service. It offers quarterly book deliveries, hotel discounts, and more. Please visit The Book Club website for more information.
